Teaching

Student Feedback:

  • “Very patient and diligent” – Niela, Brookline, MA on 5/23/16:

“My two daughters have just started taking lessons with Dorisiya. They are 7 and 11 years old. Dorisiya has been a very patient and thorough teacher. My older daughter has mentioned how good she is and feels that she is very detailed and very supportive. She goes into a lot of explanation about how and why of doing things. We are very happy so far. She is also very sweet to my younger daughter. I would strongly recommend her!”

  • “Professional and patient” – Wenjie, Cambridge, MA on 10/6/16

“Dorisiya is very professional and patient. She can observe my weakness sharply and help me make great improvement in a very short time. From the exercises she gives me, I can sense that I’m getting a systematic training. Moreover, she is very kind and polite, and makes me feel really relaxed and motivated in playing violin.”

Dorisiya’s Students

As a teacher, Dorisiya strongly believes that developing a solid technical foundation is crucial in every child’s development and plays a major role in their ability to play the instrument. Having strong fundamentals can then enable each student to grow musically and discover their own voice. Dorisiya’s teaching style incorporates elements of both the Suzuki and Traditional methods, allowing for flexibility to fill each student’s individual needs. Dorisiya’s pedagogy instructors include Mimi Zweig and Rictor Noren.
